Ariel Castro is the monster that abducted three girls and abused them sexually and physically for a decade. Thankfully, the girls were finally discovered, and set free. He abducted Michelle Knight in 2002, Georgina DeJesus in 2004, and Amanda Berry in 2003.
Ariel Castro was arrested and charged with 937 counts, including murder and kidnapping. Michelle Knight got pregnant for him several times, and each time she did, he would beat her till she miscarried the baby. He pleaded guilty to all of them, in exchange for the death penalty. Ironic how a man capable of doing so many evil things is afraid of dying. But I’m actually happy that he won’t be sentenced to death. People like him shouldn’t just die; they should live and be tortured every day. Every single day. He should lose a finger today, an ear tomorrow, a limb next week. You get it.
The Judge – Judge Michael Russo – sentenced Castro to life in prison, plus 1,000 years and no parole. The craziest part is when he said, “I’m not a monster. I’m just sick. I have an addiction, just like an alcoholic has an addiction … God as my witness, I never beat these women like they’re trying to say that I did. I never tortured them … I’m not a violent person. I simply kept them there so they couldn’t leave …” He also said that none of the girls were virgins when they came to him, and that he never, ever raped them. Apparently, all the sex was consensual, and sometimes, it was even the girls that asked for it.
This man is clearly high on something good. What kind of consensual sex do you have with women that you kidnapped, chained in the basement, and threatened with a gun? Tell me more about that, Mr. Castro. You have also referred to your house of horror as a happy household with harmony? I have to give props to people in certain positions (like lawyers, policemen, military men, etc) who are able to show amazing restraint in the face of morons like Castro. If I were the Judge presiding over this case, I might have jumped over the bench and punched Castro to Guantanamo Bay.
I applaud the confidence, eloquence, articulation, and power in Michelle Knight’s words, especially considering what she has been through and who she’s facing – her decade-old abuser. She said, “I cried every night. I was so alone. I worried what would happen to me and the other girls every day. I will live on, you will die a little every day. You took 11 years of my life away. I spent 11 years in hell. Now, your hell is just beginning.” Yesssssss!!!
I hope this man suffers long and hard in prison, and I hope that he spends the rest of his life in pain, torture, and regret. Thank God the ladies are out and alive, and I hope that as much as they can, they move past this unfortunate incident in their lives. I don’t think it can ever be forgotten, but I just pray that what the devil meant for bad in their lives, that God can turn it around for good. Amen.
