Or has it always been uncool and I just didn’t know? Blame it on my parents who swear up and down that the best electronic company is Sony. With the exception of our JVC record player, every other entertainment equipment in our house in Jos is a Sony: television, DVD player, etc.
My first laptop ever was a Compaq (are they still in business? Didn’t they get bought by another company?). After that, my mommy bought me a white Sony laptop, which I loved. Now I’m using my second Sony laptop, which I’ve had for four years now, although she’s showing signs of aging.
So Igwe and I went to Best Buy on Saturday to buy a much needed printer. I did as I always do when I go to Best Buy: walk around and admire everything in the store. This time, I was in the laptop section and I noticed that there was NO Sony laptop, so right before we checked out with our printer, I asked the guy if they have run out of Sony laptops in the store or if they just don’t carry them anymore. Before he could even respond, his coworker said, “I didn’t know people still use Sony laptops.”
Gasp.
He added, “The only people that would use the Sony laptops are the Sony people, and they don’t even use them.” I came home and decided to check Sony’s website for their newest, shiniest laptops. After searching all over the darn place, I found this:
Farewell, ke? Why didn’t anyone tell me? What computer am I supposed to buy now [because I was already unconsciously planning on buying another Sony laptop and even a Sony desktop when I have a home office]? As far as I know – and I don’t want you to disagree! – I am the coolest blogger ever, ever, ever, and I deserve the coolest laptop. Don’t suggest a Mac, please. It’s too complicated for me. I’ve never been able to get with the Mac thing. I believe that the Mac was specially placed in this world to frustrate me. Mac just continues to try my patience.
Seriously, Sony, how could you? I trusted you!
Err… get a Mac jare and stop beefing.
No seriously, get a Mac 🙂
Quagger, it’s really tempting, but a part of me just doesn’t feel like dealing with Apple. *sigh* I haven’t made up my mind yet.
Tbh Vera get a MAC, I’m sure you’re like me…but I’ve managed to get a bit used to my mac after 2 years…over all you’d benefit from it. Seriously!!!
Sisi Yemmie, what kind of benefits? Tell me, tell me!
I know how you feel. I use a vaio too. It’s white, beautiful and I’ve never had any problems with it.
Ola, I don’t know what we’ll do after our current VAIO dies oh. No more Sony 🙁
Aaah! Things have changed…For me Sony is still very cool. If I could…and if Sony manufactured…I would buy AC; Washing Machine…All from Sony…What the hell..I would have loved to marry a girl named Sony…:)
Seriously they were top notch…off late they are being beaten badly…Products still to consider…LCD’s; LED’s; MP3 players (Walkman Players)..more so the Hi-Res devices…..they have…OK I dont want to start a debate on Hi Res music…but they have been a bit in bad shape inspite of giving some cool technologies to our planet….
ewo! sorry, e dey happen like that sometimes.
