Today marks five years since Igwe and I became “one.” Sounds corny, doesn’t it? I think so too. But yes, we have now been married for five years, and it does not feel like it at all.
We did not start our wedding traditionally at all. First, we were talking. Then it became more than talking, although no one knows when exactly that happened. Well, I don’t know when it happened, but Igwe claims that he knows. Then we got married on December 2nd 2011. Then exactly one year later, Igwe suggested that we invite friends to celebrate our first wedding anniversary (although said friends did not even know that we were married except our really close friends and family). I thought it was weird and a bit much, but I went along with it. That was the day he proposed. He got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him again. Here’s the proposal story and the video is below.
We’ve gone through several challenges together and individually, and by God’s grace, we have overcome them all. I’m looking forward to FOREVER.
The picture above is one of my favorite pictures of us. It was a month after we got married and he had thrown me a surprise birthday dinner. This picture also means a lot because this was the first time I ever put his picture on my blog. In fact, it’s the first time I put a full picture of any man that I was dating on my blog.
And while we’re living our forever, I have gotten a few requests on YouTube asking that we do the Husband/Wife tag. I did not know what it was until I was asked and I had to do my research. So I told Igwe about it, and he thinks it’ll be fun to do one. All you have to do is ask us whatever questions you want us to answer.
